Back-scratcher??

My AP tests are over, which means I'm free to relax and have fun. Mostly. Some teachers insist on still giving us tests and work... but to hell with that. I have nine days of instructional class time left.

Anyway, yesterday was really fun. I actually ventured out of my house after school for the first time in a few weeks. It was lovely. Who knew sunshine was so... sunny?

Over-dramatization.

I got frozen yogurt with friends, and even went to a hoppin' bon fire. It was a whole lot of social exposure, and pretty darn fun if I may say so. So here's a toast of sparkling apple cider to the beginning of an awesome summer, in which I only spend half of the time at home rocking out like a hermit. I mean, I do have quite a few things I want to do at home. Like watch a bunch of tv series I never got a chance to get into... and posting on this blog. Also exercise. My stellar Just Dance 3 moves could blind anyone who got close enough to see me clearly. Some things you just have to do on your own.

As for the title of this post, I'd like to give a shout out to Yesenia, the Royal Queen of Fabulous Back-rubs. As Queen, you are entitled to a cartoon version of yourself that bears little resemblance to your actual face.

Back-rubs/back-scratches are seriously one of the greatest things on earth. I don't know why, but when someone scratches that one spot on your back that you never even knew existed... it's like your entire body falls into a pool of metal beads like that 5 Gum commercial, and when you breathe in everything feels like sleepiness and time travel. I don't know what time travel feels like, but my guess is it involves a lot of spiraling, spinning lines that can hypnotize you into a stupor of pleasant mindlessness.

As a totally unrelated side-note, chickens are much more adorable than I expected. As for chicken fights (aka shoulder wars)... don't try them on land. Bad idea.

Life lessons with the gang. <3

AVENGERS... ASSEMBLE!

I saw the Avengers today. It was beautiful. I laughed, I cried, I cheered. Oh gosh, here come the arm flails again...

Needless to say, I am a HUGE superhero fan. I've never read any of the comics, but that doesn't mean I'm any less of a fangirl. I collect random super hero paraphernalia, I squeal when I see something super hero related, and I enthusiastically jump up and down at the mere mention of a new movie. X-Men, Thor, Spiderman, Batman, Iron Man, you name it. Given that the Avengers was pretty much just a movie devoted to throwing a group of my favorite super heros into a room to see what would happen... I nearly died. You don't even... you don't even know.

In any case, after the movie my friend and I went to Barnes and Noble and I freaked out over the little Avengers table in the corner. Took home my two new best friends:

I only really planned on getting one... but Thor's my favorite and Captain America as a bobble head was the most adorable... so... I bought both. Totally worth it.

Avengers summary with absolutely no spoilers:

Look guys, a super jumbo threat! Ahh, ASSEMBLE THE TEAM. Assemble, assemble, assemble. Bicker, bicker, bicker. Kapow, boom, FIERY EXPLOSIONS. SUPER HOT SUPERHEROES RESPOND. More threats, ahh why can't we get along! NEW THREATS, epic fight scene, and mega teamwork for ultimate success! We failed anyway, oh no! Quick, the ultimate threat is here, ASSEMBLE AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME WE LOVE EACH OTHER. EXPLOSIONS. MORE EXPLOSIONS. DESTRUCTION OF A CITY. SCREAMING CIVILIANS. THE END.

I may have missed a bit of plot in there... but I guess you'll just have to go see it to find out what happens. I can't give away all the juicy info.

Anyway, I don't really have much more to add to this post. Things have been pretty crazy with AP tests coming up. I'll do another "post every day this week" once my tests are all over. Needless to say, I'll be doing absolutely nothing for school.
